Qatar 2022 World Cup ‘Leggings are NOT pants’: Qatar puts its foot down with dress code as it launches advertising campaign reminding female tourists what not to wear. - 'If you are in Qatar, you are one of us': Qatar aims to educate tourists on modesty - Men wearing shorts and singlets in public will be frowned upon - Women should also avoid wearing garments which are too short or too tight, such as mini-skirts or sleeveless dresses - Imprisonments for a period of 6 months for gesture, reciting songs, utters etc muslims who visit other countries (such as Europe, US) and cover up head to toe, wear burka (bin bag), scarf etc, doesn't these offend European and US cultures and values? Europe, US and other non-muslim countries must ban all types of outfits that does not belong to their culture. What a joke these muslim countries!!!!! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2641453/Qatars-clothing-modesty-campaign-clarifies-stance-leggings-new-advertising-campaign.html Edited by Brendar, May 29 14, 4:55.

Its a good thing. I went to turkey this year and they have been rapidly westernized and dress more and more ''open''/''slutty''. |

It's Turkey, their founding father (Papa Ataturk) had a great dislike for Islam and supported the invasion of foreign influence. |

maybe similar but not the same. Contrary to Qatar you as a person are allowed to wear different things IF you want even if it is not popular to wear in a different way. in Qatar it is actually illegal by law I think. |

Are you serious? Last time i went to Amed in 2012 all women had frigging niqab and when my mother went to Amed this year she saw many people that werent religous wearing Turban/Niqab, AKP is trying to make Amed turn into a Jihadist shithole, i dont like women wearing very tight stuff like they do in SK but i dislike niqab even more. Rudaw posted pictures of dersim with girls dressed in their underwear by a lake. I dont see a problem with that, likewise in Bashur people are free to wear what they like. Live and let live. |

Islam is technically also an invasion of foreign influence. If you have this typical Kurdish complex that "everything our enemies do or are, we must avoid, or do the opposite to them" then you end up in a logical contradiction since both secularists and Islamists have attacked us. No, of course not, that would be against Kurdish traditions. I suppose some few lost people do, but they're an invisible minority, and they'll remain so forever. |

As a whole is what I meant, but regarding Slemani - what makes you think that this city is so much more different to the rest of bashur? Because WW2B claims so or what? Don't take his word for much, he just so a couple of women walking around in revealing clothing, and decided that this must mean that Slemani as a whole is liberal. This comes from the same guy who claims that only 2-3 % of Kurdistan is religious, simply because nobody votes for Islamist parties. Well let me remind you that Barzani, the leader of PDK, doesn't want his wife and daughters to be seen on any kind of media... Slemani is caught between Kirkuk and Hewler, both religious regions, and rojhelat on the other side, which is a part of the Islamic regime, so unrealistic too to assume that this region has become as liberal as WW2B claims, it's just his imagination gone wild, his desire to see Kurdistan being emptied of it's traditions and it's spirit. |

This minority is mostly made up of Kurds who grew up in the West, or have spent a lot of time here, unless you can move all Kurds over here, then nothing's gonna happen. Also am I allowed to call you a self-hater for wanting to impose foreign values on Kurdistan? |

In the words of an American(also known as Gary Brecher, the well known "War Nerd") who taught at the AUIS in Slemani. http://exiledonline.com/neocon-like-me-how-i-spent-a-year-in-iraq-teaching-with-the-bush-cheney-crazies/ You accuse WW2boy of having a wild imagination, but the evidence seems to support his claims, and not yours. Which is an embarrassment when even the Islamist Erdogan allows his wife to be seen. Are you insinuating that you approve of this? Islamic phobia for human sexuality is not my tradition and spirit, and nor of my Alevi Dersimi ancestors. If Kurdistan is to be inclusive of all Kurdish components you're going to have to be more accommodating of people like me who were never brought up with this crap. By the way, your attitude spits on millenia-old Kurdish folkore which does celebrate human sexuality and romance quite openly, in direct violation of the Islamic values you cling to so emotionally. I can produce sources proving this if you so wish, but wouldn't that be sad when every Kurd with an interest in his culture is supposed to know that. Edited by Partizan, Jul 21 14, 5:21.
