Hevalno, under Demirtas' speech, people chanted "Bijî berxwedana Kobanê" and "Azadî Kurdistan"!

Headline Nr. 01 in Germany:

Erdogans AKP droht Verlust der absoluten Mehrheit

(Erdogans AKP is threatened by the loss of the absolute majority)

Yes, we are allies to the Turks.
But especially Erdogan annoyed the shyte out of us Germans.
Yes, Herr Erdogan, we Germans have a word for our German mood in the face of your defeat: Schadenfreude.... haha

16 million kurds in turkey
56 million voters out of population of 78 million
means approx 10 million kurds are eligible to vote (Kurds have a younger population)
42 out of 56 million people have voted
means approx. 7 million kurds have voted

HDP has 5.1 million votes so far.

This means at least 5 million out of 7 million eligible Kurdish voters voted for HDP

Are there other Kurdish parties besides HDP?

This is a really good number, shows that more and more Kurds become aware of their identity

At most 1.5 million Kurds voted for non-Kurdish party, probably AKP
Finally someone got it.

Look how much the Kurdish movment has grown in Bakure Kurdistan.

In the 2011 elections BDP (HDP) got 2,8 million votes (6,6%) and 35 seats

Now HDP got 5,7 million votes (13%) and 82 seats

2011 Green - BDP (HDP) won in 7 provinces

2015 Purple - HDP won in 14 provinces

there are 22 million kurds in turkey, of those 12 million are elible to vote,
6 million voted for hdp, 4 million for akp, chp and mhp
the rest refrained from voting,
there are more then 16 million kurds in turkey.
mate i think you need to look at percentages and not numbers. The voting% is generally not so high in turkey and even less so in North Kurdistan.
If we assume that Kurds make up 20% of the population then a 13% result is very very good. It means that at least half of Kurds vote for Kurdish party.

also I am quite surprised that HDP is the second largest party in the diaspora. I think PKK did a very good job this year organising and mobilising Kurds in Europe
