Good news guys Urgent Shiite militia groups known as PMF embarrass Iraq and deny the Iraqi army dealing with one of the most prominent US arms companies. The US tank company Abrams has withdrawn from its location at Muthanna airport in Baghdad, stopped the maintenance and maintenance operations of the Iraqi Abrams tanks and prevented Iraq from supplying spare parts to consider Iraq to be in breach of the Abrams contract, which states that the Iraqi army is the only authorized entity to use tanks The Abrams. The company took this action after it confirmed reports that Shiite militias had used these tanks in the occupation of Kirkuk and were used by militias in military operations in Anbar. http://www.kurdistantv.net/ar/2018/01/28/ https://www.facebook.com/Peshmerga.hd/posts/966534886832290 |

1st Abram and now this Hashd al-Shaabi urges Abadi to end 'US intervention' in Iraq after friendly strike incident Hewlêr, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – A member of the Iranian-backed Shia Hashd al-Shaabi militia on Sunday called on Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi to take “deterrent measures” against American troops in the country. Iskandar Wutwut, a member of the Shia militias security and defense committee, urged the Iraqi Prime Minister to take a stand and end US “interference” in Iraq following a friendly fire incident which killed and injured 18 local police forces in the Anbar Province on Saturday. A US and Iraqi joint force mistakenly killed eight and injured at least 10 others during clashes with local police and paramilitary tribal fighters in Anbar’s al-Baghdadi town. The clashes took place at midnight when a US and Iraqi joint force raided the house of a terrorist suspect in Baghdadi town, about 190 kilometers northwest of Iraq’s capital, Captain Mohammed al-Dulaimi from the provincial police told Xinhua. Both local police and tribal fighters were surprised by the operation and approached the site to identify the forces which resulted in clashes before US helicopter gunships shelled the police and tribal fighters. In an interview with Watan News, Wutwut said the “bombing by the US forces in Baghdadi was a blatant interference and that it should never be accepted.” “The American side did not inform the command of operations about the bombing, and this is not a permissible move by any foreign military on Iraqi territory without informing the government,” he added. The Iraqi Joint Operations Command said they had opened an investigation into the incident and would release further information soon. Wutwut called on Abadi, who is also the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi armed forces, to take “deterrent measures” and form “an investigative committee to expose” future incidents and prevent them from reoccurring. “There [should] be a unified decision by members of the House of Representatives to cancel the US presence in Iraq after this wrong intervention,” the Hashd al-Shaabi member concluded. http://www.kurdistan24.net/en/news/6bb4d18b-f164-491f-ae96-1afef242037d http://www.kurdistan24.net/en/news/db312bb4-7aad-4465-8c71-394621e74d4e |

American firm suspends Abrams tank maintenance in Iraq, threatens final withdrawal Hewlêr, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – The United States has stopped a maintenance program for the Iraqi-owned Abrams tanks after one of the military vehicles was provided to the Iranian-backed Hashd al-Shaabi, Iraqi media reported on Sunday. Iraq-based al-Ghad Press revealed that American company General Dynamics, who produces the Abrams tanks, had suspended its maintenance program in Iraq over the Hashd al-Shaabi’s—also known as the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF)—possession of one of the US-made tanks. “The US tank company [General Dynamics] withdrew from its base in Baghdad’s al-Muthanna airport after finding out that Iraq violated the terms of the contract which only authorized the Iraqi army to use the US provided tanks,” the report stated. According to the report, the US company had previously informed the Iraqi government about the provision of Abrams tanks to armed groups that do not belong to the Iraqi army. After the company’s compliance, the Iraqi government retrieved one of the tanks from the Hashd al-Shaabi during an anti-Islamic State (IS) operation in Anbar Province, the report added. General Dynamics’ staff in Iraq left the country for the Christmas holidays and had not returned yet as the Iraqi government promised it would return the tank to the company’s maintenance site by the beginning of February, al-Ghad Press explained. Al-Ghad Press also noted the company had threatened “a final withdrawal” from Iraq if it was proven that Iran, which backs the Hashd al-Shaabi, had reproduced the tank. Kurdistan Region officials previously complained that US M1 Abrams Tanks and Humvees, along with other US-provided military equipment given to the Iraqi forces to defeat IS, were used by the PMF in their aggression against Kurds last October. Kurdistan’s Peshmerga forces destroyed two Abrams tanks after the Iranian-backed Shia militias had used them during the Oct. 16 attacks on Kurdish areas. Iraq owns 140 M1 Abrams Tanks. Sixty of them are now out of service following the Mosul battle, with the company planning to restore them back to service before it decided to stop entirely in December. http://www.kurdistan24.net/en/news/c42aa6e8-115f-4585-83b9-4c84511195ad |

Deputy Speaker of Iraqi Parliament pressures Turkish Ambassador![]() BAGHDAD – Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Humam al-Hamoudi, on Tuesday (January 30) called on Turkey to immediately withdraw its military troops from Iraqi territories. Hamoudi’s comments came during his meeting with Turkish Ambassador to Iraq, Fatih Yildiz, his media office said in a statement. A willingness by Turkey to withdraw troops from Iraqi will strengthen relations between the two countries at various levels, Hamoudi told the Turkish Ambassador. He called on countries that have a presence in Iraq to work towards reducing the hazards that threaten the security and stability of peoples through joint and serious cooperation. For his part, Yildiz stressed his country's support of the unity and sovereignty of the country in all its territory and to support the political process in Iraq.” The Turkish army has had a military base in the Kurdistan Region, specifically in the Duhok Governorate, for 19 years. Their army established a base near Bashiqa in December 2015 during the occupation of the Islamic state. Earlier today, the Gorran faction in the Kurdistan Parliament walked out of the session, saying Kurdish legislators should have been able to decide to expel the Turkish forces from the Region, in response to the operation in Afrin. Turkey launched operation "Olive Branch" on January 20 this year against the Syrian Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) in Afrin, supporting Syrian opposition fighters with ground troops and air strikes. According to the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, at least 61 civilians (Arabs, Kurds, and Armenians) and 78 fighters have been killed in 10 days of Turkish strikes and shelling in Afrin. Even so, Kurds still reject the idea of handing the region back to the Syrian government in exchange for military protection. (NRT) http://www.nrttv.com/en/Details.aspx?Jimare=18519 |

Iraq belongs to US till they think it’s time to change the Rulers when time is right. Coalition statement contradicts Baghdad, says US troops to remain in Iraq Hewlêr, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – The US-led Coalition against the Islamic State (IS) on Monday stated its focus in Iraq would shift from combat operations to sustaining military gains against the extremist group. The coalition statement revealed its troops would remain in Iraq as IS extremists “continue to pose a threat” to the country’s security and risk transition back into an insurgency. “The Coalition will tailor its forces in consultation with the Iraqi partners in order to ensure the lasting defeat of [IS],” Brig. Gen. Jonathan Braga, the coalition's director of operations, said. The statement came the same day as an Iraqi official claimed the US would be reducing its presence in the country since the “battle against Daesh (IS) has ended.” The statement stressed, however, that “coalition commanders have noted [IS] is likely to transition back into an insurgency and still retains the ability to carry out lethal attacks and poses a potent threat to civilians and the stability of the region.” According to the statement, the coalition will retain an appropriate amount of troops and advisory presence to continue training, advising and equipping partners in the fight against IS in Iraq, contradicting the Iraqi government’s spokesperson, Saad al-Hadithi. The Iraqi official had told the Associated Press that US forces had started to withdraw from the country following IS’ defeat. “Our enduring presence as invited guests in Iraq will shift to focus more on policing, border control and military capacity building,” the statement countered, quoting Braga. “Continued Coalition presence in Iraq will be conditions-based, proportional to the need and in coordination with the government of Iraq,” it concluded. http://www.kurdistan24.net/en/news/de1bd6a2-4f4d-4cad-b1c6-9b8d9cc9d756 |

I hope so then Peshmerga will also move in and attack them from Kirkuk Iraqi Shia militia: Confrontation with US troops can happen at any moment The Iranian-backed Shia Kata'ib Hezbollah militia at one of the front lines in Iraq. (Photo: Archive) Hewlêr, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – The Iranian-backed Kata'ib Hezbollah militia on Monday warned it might engage in armed confrontation with US forces in Iraq at any moment. It is the second, if not the third warning issued by the Iranian-backed Shia militia against American troops in the country since the Iraqi government declared final victory over the Islamic State (IS) in late 2017. There are over 5,000 US troops in Iraq. The US-led Coalition against IS on Monday stated its focus in Iraq would shift from combat operations to sustaining military gains against the extremist group. The coalition statement revealed its troops would remain in Iraq as IS extremists “continue to pose a threat” to the country’s security and risk transition back into an insurgency. “The Coalition will tailor its forces in consultation with the Iraqi partners to ensure the lasting defeat of [IS],” Brig. Gen. Jonathan Braga, the coalition's director of operations, said. The statement came the same day as an Iraqi official claimed the US would be reducing its presence in the country since the “battle against Daesh (IS) has ended.” Jaafar Al-Husseini, spokesman for the Kata'ib Hezbollah, also known as the Hezbollah Brigades, “There is no stable Iraq with the presence of the Americans.” Iraqi government officials have asserted on more than one occasion that the presence of US troops in the country came at the request of a US-led coalition against terrorism. “The Americans did not come to Iraq at the request of the government,” Husseini said. Baghdad says the US' presence is mainly focused on training and advising Iraqis. Husseini said clashes with the Americans “may start at any moment ... This time the Americans will not be able to talk themselves out of it.” The Hezbollah Brigades are one of the most prominent factions of the Hashd al-Shaabi, also known as the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), formed three years ago following the emergence of IS in Iraq in 2014. The Shia militia has close ties with Tehran, similar to Harakat Hezbollah al-Nujaba group, the closest armed faction to the Iranian Revolutionary Guards' Commander, Qassem Soleimani. Militia groups have already threatened to target US forces, days after US air strikes targeted local police and tribal fighters in a friendly fire accident in Anbar last month. Iraqi forces, backed by the US-led coalition, last year restored all territory which had fallen into the hands of IS in 2014 and 2015, including Mosul, the second-largest city in Iraq and self-proclaimed capital of the jihadist group. http://www.kurdistan24.net/en/news/ee824c8e-0250-4ace-9937-097cd6820f93 |

Israel uncovers wide-ranging connection between Hamas and Turkey The Israeli secret services uncovered a network of Hamas abettors which involved Israeli as well as Turkish citizens, and which seems to indicate officers from the Turkish government were complicit in supporting the movement. One of the man arrested is Cemil Tekeli, who reportedly helped a number of Hamas officers settle down in Turkey after they were released in the Gilad Shalit deal. “Tekeli assisted them in obtaining visas that allowed them to stay in Turkey, in purchasing and renting commercial and residential properties, in purchasing luxury vehicles and in becoming established in business via the registration of companies in their names,” says an Israel Security Agency statement. The man, a lecturer in law, is reportedly involved in the creation of the SADAT firm, a Turkish company that was used to support the creation of the 'Palestine Army', an anti-Israeli organization.Employees of “SADAT” reportedly helped senior Hamas officials to visit a 2015 weapons show in Turkey, during which they expressed interest in Unmanned Aerial Vehicles.“During the investigation It became clear that Hamas is in direct contact with Turkish authorities via Jihad Ya'amur, a terrorist who was involved in the abduction of IDF soldier Nahshon Waxman and was released in the Shalit deal”, said the Shabak statement.Following the investigations, Cemil Tekeli has been expelled from Turkey. The investigation however involved a number of Israeli citizens from the Umm al-Fahm region in Northern Israel, most importantly Hamas recruited Dara'am Jabarin who acted as a middle-man between Hamas in the West Bank and its Turkish backers. The man reportedly transferred hundreds of thousands of euros to Hamas cells in the West Bank, and was caught red-handed as he was hiding 91.000 euros in his house during the investigations.“During the investigation it was learned that the two had been recruited in Turkey by senior Hamas terrorist Zaher Jabarin, who was released in the Shalit deal,” says the Hamas statement referring to Cemil Tekeli and Dara'am Jabarin.“He is responsible for Hamas' budget and promotes ramified terrorist operations in Judea and Samaria on instruction from Salah Aruri, who serves as the deputy chairman of the organization and head of its operations in the West Bank,” it explained further.Zaher Jabarin was reportedly involved in “wide-ranging Hamas activity in money laundering in Turkey”, on instruction from Zaher Jabarin. In the final paragraphs of its statement, the Israeli Shabbak highlights how the findings show strong connections between Turkey and Hamas, a militant group which both the United States and the European Union consider a terrorist organization. “The findings of the investigation underscore the fact that Hamas' ramified economic and military activity in Turkey takes place unhindered as Turkish officials turn a blind eye and – on occasion – encourage it, and with the assistance of Turkish nationals, some of whom are close to the government,” reads the statement. https://www.i24news.tv/en/news/israel/167506-180212-israeli-shabak-uncovers-wide-ranging-connection-between-hamas-and-turkey |
