Turkish ambassador to #Iraq visited site of consulate in Mosul & says #Turkey  wants to rebuild it after it was ruined during ISIS occupation. He also toured site of Mosul airport & said Turkish companies could rehabilitate it.

Who knows Iran mite sell or already sold Mosul to turks like they do with Afrin, maybe Kirkuk for Mosul!

Turks consider Kirkuk and Mosul to be turkish provinces

I won’t be surprised if Iran sold them to turkey since they are now all in bed with Russia.

Iran-backed al-Badr parliamentary group warns against US expansion in Iraq

Hewlêr, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – An Iraqi Shia parliament member has warned against “plots” by the United States who he said was using the Islamic State (IS) war as a pretext to establish bases in Iraq.

Ali al-Morshidy, an Iraqi Parliament member from the al-Badr Organization bloc, claimed the US was trying to expand its military bases in Iraq, affirming that Iraqi forces no longer needed US trainers or security units in the country.

“The US is using tricks, based on the excuse of IS’ presence and training of Iraqi forces, to prepare for a long-term stay in Iraq,” the Shia MP said.

Morshidy admitted that although Iraq was in need of military experts and advisers, there were countries other than the US and its allies who could help Iraq and support its efforts in fighting terrorism and stabilizing the security of the country.

“There are plots to expand the US bases in Iraq instead of reducing the number of bases and handing them over to the Iraqi forces,” Morshidy said, noting that “those bases are being reinforced from time to time.”

He added that there was a significant opposition at the parliament level and from the people of Iraq who disagree with the US’ expansion in the country.

The al-Badr Organization is an Iranian-officered military wing of the Supreme Council for Islamic Revolution in Iraq formed by Hadi al-Amiri in 1982 in Iran. A US federal indictment has linked Amiri to a 1996 attack in Saudi Arabia that killed 19 US Air Force servicemen.

An Iraqi official recently claimed the US Army had taken precautionary measures at its bases in Iraq after continuous threats by the Iranian-backed Hashd al-Shaabi militias against America’s military presence in the country.

The US liquidates its two main Mid East air bases at Incirlik and Al-Udeid

Mar 22, 2018 @ 16:36

Plans to speed up the transfer of the big US CENTCOM base in Qatar to Saudi Arabia were approved by President Donald Trump and Saudi Crown Prince Muhamed bin Salman when they met at the White House on Tuesday, March 20. This is an earthshaking event for the Middle East, which far transcends US-Saudi relations, say DEBKAfile’s military sources.
They also disclose that, despite repeated denials, the Trump administration is in the process of another momentous move, packing up its air force and quitting Incirlik in southern Turkey, the biggest air base in the region.

The two moves are interconnected. Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan has become an avid supporter of the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, who is locked in a feud with the Saudi rulers. Turkey recently established a large military base in the oil emirate. The Saudi Crown Prince and his ally, the UAE ruler Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al-Nahyan, are close friends and President Trump’s leading allies in the Gulf region. The two Gulf rulers view the Turkish president and Qatari emir as arch-foes.

The relocation of the two US bases stems additionally from the sharp reduction in fighting against ISIS in both Iraq and Syria. There is therefore less need for US air force operations in those parts. The US facilities and aircraft based in Incirlik are already being shifted to bases in East Europe, our military sources report. The Pentagon is also looking at Andravida in southern Greece as a replacement for Incirlik.
US installations are being shipped out of Al-Udaid in Qatar to the Prince Sultan Air base in central Saudi Arabia near Al Kharj, which lies 77km south of Riyadh. Fifteen years ago, this base was the main US air force hub for the oil-rich Gulf region, home at times to more than 60,000 US service personnel. When the US invaded Iraq in 2003 and captured Baghdad, the Saudi rulers insisted on the evacuation of US troops. Now they are returning.

The relocation of the two big US air bases in the Middle East is bound to shake up the region’s strategic dynamic. American soldiers are now in place to defend the Saudi kingdom. This will no doubt convey a clear message to Iran that the Trump administration has the back of the royal regime in Riyadh.

US Senators Want to Stop Turkey Getting Advanced Warplanes

Three U.S. Senators are trying to block the sale of over 100 advanced warplanes to Turkey’s government.

Republicans James Lankford, Thom Tillis and Democrat Jeanne Shaheen have tabled legislation which would also see Turkey ruled out as a maintenance hub for the Lockheed-Martin-made aircraft.

Although Turkey is a NATO ally of the U.S., Lankford, in a statement said Ankara “has continued down a path of reckless governance and disregard for the rule of law”.

“Turkey’s strategic decisions regrettably fall more and more out of line with, and at times in contrast to, U.S. interests,” the senator added.

Lankford highlighted the case of a U.S.-born pastor on trial in Turkey on a range of serious charges stemming from his alleged links to the Fethullah Gulen network which Ankara says was behind the country’s July 2016 coup attempt.

Tillis added: “America is not going to forget about Andrew Brunson and the other Americans who are being wrongfully imprisoned by the Turkish government.”

“Turkey has long been a vital NATO ally and America understands the unique national security threats it faces; however, denying the rights of law-abiding Americans undermines the relationship between our two countries.

“The Erdogan government should understand that Congress will pursue measures to protect the interests of American citizens, including stopping the transfer of F-35 aircraft to Turkey.”

The fighter jets are to replace Turkey’s fleet of F-16 aircraft. Reportedly, Ankara is planning to acquire a total 116 F-35 planes.

Turkey’s armament move has caused unease in Athens in light of comments by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan who challenges the sovereignty of Greek islands and disputes the Treaty of Lausanne.
