Sleman bag is a sub district of Duz Khurmatu it had Sulaimani battalion 16 but they were ambushed their numbers were small now it's in the hand of Sunni militias. its a disputed sub district too but it's not Duz itself. it's south of Duz after Hamreen mountain

22 Kurdish soldiers at Sleman bag surrendered to the Sunni militia after they introduced themselves as Kurds the sunni groups just took their weapons and then they handed the kurdish soldiers back to Peshmerga on Duz-Kifri road. we won't fight for maliki in your dreams.

Russian Girenak Joseph, who visited Kirkuk in Kurdistan as a part of his tour throu the 1870 - 1873 AD, who published the results of his trip & his studies later in 1879, in the 4th volume in the Bulletin of the Caucasus department of the Royal Geographical Russian Society estimated Kirkuk's population as many as 12-50,000 people, & he emphasized that except 40 Christian families, the rest of the population were Kurds. As for The Turkmen & Arabs, they have not been already existed at the time.

The blame for this is on both sides, I personally blame Maliki for not complying with the Hewlêr agreement which ensured more Sunni Arab rights, and positions with in the government. Off course Malikis move on arresting Sunni officials didn't help. Maliki saw this coming, and he played with fire by moving his military into these regions under the pretext of "Kurdish expansion" however it is clear that developments in Syria worried maliki with the fear of facing this ultimatum.

Off course Erbils position is very clear, they will protest Kurdish and other minority regions (i.e Christian, Turkmen and so on) however I don't see any Kurdish engagement in this conflict, unless the superpowers give them an offer they can't refuse and off course if the Sunni movement agrees to a neutral force in the area, like the join Kurdish-American forces we saw in 2007. However with the way the obama administration has being going en-route anti-Kurdistan that is a tough nut to crack.

This is off course no good for anyway, one might think that Hewlêr is happy, but I doubt that very much, an unstable sunni triangle will negatively affect Kurdistan as it would be a harbour for sunni-extremists and the likes, and fears of them establishing themselves there without american presence is off course not welcomed.

If one looks some years down the road, with a sunni Syria, the Sunnis in i-rack will be only strengthened, the only welcomed card that Hewlêr would see out of this is a strengthened Kurdish position with more demands to be made.

As Berham Salih, the ex Kurdish premier said today “Kurdish Spring is here. Our time has come. Turkey will not be threatened by recognition of Kurdish identity"

Off course the first of the statement refers to the troublesome times the region is going through, while pointing to the improved Kurd-Turk relations.
