Let them do so. Israel will then annihilate the entire i-racki army and make Maliki eat poop. We'll then just take over whatever areas we want and kick the desert rats out, back to Persia. |

"The world seems to have become immune" Now the United Nations has said the words all been waiting for: chemical weapons have probably been used in Syria. The French foreign minister said last night that the poison gas sarin used in the war. Meanwhile, the brutality in the country reached new levels, according to the UN. Can it get worse? Yes, some say it gets even blacker before an improvement can be seen in Syria. GENEVA On Tuesday, the UN report, which many waited for. The chairman of the UN Commission of Inquiry on Syria struck with lightly trembling voice stated: "We have reasonable grounds to believe that chemical weapons have been used in limited quantities in Syria." It lists four specific attacks in March and April where it is suspected that chemical weapons have been used. But it does not say who is behind the attacks, only that the regime takes Chemical Weapons and the rebels may have used chemical weapons, including nerve gas. The French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said yesterday that test results show that the sarin used in Syria. Nor did he give details of who used poison gas. Chairman Paulo Pinheiro would rather not talk about chemical weapons at all at the press conference, even though it was the report's highlight. He knew the dynamite he served. U.S. President Obama has said that with chemical weapons crossed a "red border". For many, it is interpreted as a cry for an international military intervention. But the U.S. wriggled like Pinheiro and said that additional evidence is required. One guess is that Obama regrets his "red line" statement. SYRIA France confirms: poison gas was used UN data on chemical weapons is a gruesome step. But the report has more atrocities. No less than 17 massacres have taken place between January and May, summary executions, rape and torture occurs on both sides and kidnappings has literally exploded. Cities under siege now systematically recruited child soldiers and people driven from their homes. Some horrible examples etched. Bedouin family where mom, dad, their seven young children and the grandmother is murdered in his tent. Family members who pay bribes to the regime's security people to know where their murdered relatives dumped. A video showing a child who beheads two abducted soldiers. Rebels holding public executions of prisoners to intimidate civilians. The regime's prisoners in cells full of worms where they sleep standing, tortured with electric shocks and get boiling water over them. Can it get worse? It has gone so far that the world seems to have become immune to what is happening. Try just the idea to replace the country in yesterday's UN report: "War crimes and crimes against humanity has been living in Sweden." Surely everyone would react. But now where Syria, and there is hardly anyone raises an eyebrow. But it Finnsen small glimmer of light: The pending peace conference called Geneva second On Wednesday begins the U.S., Russia and UN envoy Lakhdar Brahimi prepare conference in Geneva. But no one knows when the warring parties are ready to come to the negotiating table. Syria Commission Karen Koning AbuZayd was dismal during an interview with Svenska Dagbladet. In short, she compared the situation in Bosnia. "As long as both think they can win, learn weapons flowing into and the war continued. They have become quite weary of fighting. Perhaps it a horror that Srebrenica before they are ready to start negotiating. "More hell before it turns then. http://www.svd.se/nyheter/utrikes/perspektiv-syrien-gissar-att-obama-angrar-sitt-uttalande_8239888.svd Swedish newspaper Google translated Other sources say other things |

Like I always predicted. The USA is moving to the borders because Assad is winning. They don't care about Assad or the FSA. I think they care more about the Kurds. Because if Assad wins and defeats the FSA, he will move on and try to massacre the Kurds. That's why the US is moving in now, to protect the Kurds. And not only that; the major oil fields of Syria are located in the Kurdish areas, which are protected by the Kurds and have been save until now. Maybe the US isn't that bad after all. Maybe their current i-racki policy is just to keep the Persians, Shia's and Maliki calm so that we can get stronger. And maybe not, but this move IS very typical. |

Oh common you can't be serious. Ba'ath assadi regime has been there for decades and was never a threat ti the security of Israel, in fact Israel fought and won a war against Syria and the rest if the entire Arab world at the same time. They don't need US assistance to destroy Assads regime, especially not now that it is so much weaker then before the civil war. My theory sounds more logical then yours. Why didn't they intervene earlier? |

Syria is still witnessing an armed conflict between government forces represented by Syrian President, Bashar al-Assad and the armed opposition seeking to topple the regime that led to death of more than 80 thousand people, according to UN statistics. Sectarian divisions have emerged in the region on the background of the conflict, where Assad’s regime accuse Gulf states and Turkey of supporting the armed opposition, while the latter accuses both Iran and the Lebanese Hezbollah, as well as the Iraqi government of processing the regime with what it needs money, arms and men. Alawi: Maliki’s visit to Erbil weakens Baghdad Monday, 10 June 2013 13:10 Shafaq News / Independent MP , Hassan al-Alawi considered on Monday, Prime Minister , Nuri al-Maliki’s visit to Erbil as “a statesman move” while believed that the latter’s move cut the way in front of any new Shiite – Kurdish alliance. Al-Maliki and his cabinet ministers have visited Erbil, on Sunday and held upon arrival a session of the federal government proceeded in joint committees to discuss outstanding differences between Baghdad and Erbil. “Maliki’s move is a statesman move and I did not celebrate Hakim’s initiative that gathered the politicians, it is supposed for the political leader to initiate, whydoesn’tthe Speaker of the parliament goes to the Prime Minister and vice versa, as their relation is not personal and their presence is not individual but governed and legislated by the voter’s will? “ Alawi said in an interview to “Shafaq News”. “The agreements must be conducted in Baghdad, Maliki going to Erbil is a fault that harms Baghdad position in history, but in return he came to the incorrect position to correct it, meetings can return broken trust between Maliki and Barzani”. Alawi revealed the reason why al-Maliki visited Kurdistan Region in the current time, stressing that the new Shiite alliance paid him to do so. It is worth mentioning that the blocs of cleric Moqtada al-Sadr and the leader of the Islamic Supreme Council, Ammar al-Hakim have allied to form local governments and councils in several provinces with a Shiite majority. http://www.shafaaq.com/en/index.php?option=com |

Breaking.... Obama's 'red line' crossed, will arm Syrian rebels In a significant shift in strategy, the Obama administration has announced that it will begin sending arms to Syrian insurgents after citing conclusive evidence that the Assad regime has used chemical weapons against the rebels. US President Barack Obama is going to start arming Syrian rebels after two years of vigorous debate within his administration, in an effort to halt the momentum gathered by the government and its Lebanese Shiite Hezbollah allies. The decision came as the White House announced it had evidence that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s government had used chemical weapons against opposition fighters in the civil war that has gripped the country since March 2011 – the “red line” set by the president as a prerequisite for action. “Our intelligence community assesses that the Assad regime has used chemical weapons, including the nerve agent sarin, on a small scale against the opposition multiple times in the last year,” Benjamin Rhodes, a high-level national security advisor, told reporters. The White House has cited intelligence officials who believe that 100 to 150 people had been killed in the attacks using chemical weapons. Small arms and ammunition, but no no-fly zone for now But even with the change in strategy, top administration officials have indicated that US involvement will be cautious and in collaboration with allies. Moreover, Washington has offered few specifics as to how it will proceed. With rebels in increasing need of weapons after losing several crucial battles against pro-Assad forces, the administration said via a statement that it would step up military support to the opposition both in “scope and scale” – widely understood to mean that it would send weapons to insurgents. The New York Times late Thursday reported that the supplies, to be coordinated by the Central Intelligence Agency, would include small arms, ammunition, and possibly anti-tank weapons. Top national security advisors have specified, however, that Obama had not yet decided whether to implement a no-fly zone in Syria, something rebel forces -- along with several top US politicians like Senator John McCain -- say is necessary to halt Assad’s bombing of opposition strongholds. Still, the decision to arm rebels represents a shift in the longstanding US policy of not providing lethal aid, as a war-weary America focuses on ending and winding down its military entanglements in Iraq and Afghanistan. Decision follows pressure and shift in crisis The US announcement comes on the heels of several White House meetings on Syria and amid increasing pressure from both allies abroad and at home – namely former President Bill Clinton – for Obama to act more decisively. Obama has been more cautious than Britain and France – which pressed the EU earlier this month to lift an embargo on weapons for rebels – and has cited his concern that weapons could fall into the hands of the wrong insurgents, notably those loyal to al Qaeda. But the crisis in Syria has evolved swiftly, with thousands of battle-savvy Iran-backed Hezbollah fighters helping Assad crack down on the largely Sunni rebellion in a conflict that has killed at least 93,000, according to UN estimates. US officials will join European counterparts in talks with the commander of the main rebel force, the Free Syrian Army, in Turkey in the next several days. One of the main issues on the table will likely be ensuring that weapons reach the right groups. Obama also plans to bring up Syria with allies during a G8 summit in Northern Ireland next week. http://www.france24.com/en/20130614-change-tack-obama-will-send-weapons-syrian-rebels |
