Guys don't forget that the iraqi army consists of sunni and shitte soldiers. The sunni soldiers are all daash supporters. When they enter the sunni areas they are given hero's welcome because they are all relatives (brothers, cousins etc), just like how we treat our fighters (pkk, peshmerga, ypg). Daash is not made up of a few hundred soldiers, the entire sunni sect in iraq & syria supports them against the shitte regime. Just like how a few peshmerga's used to enter an area in Kurdistan and all the youths used pick their weapon and follow them. The arab clans have given them almost everything, food, water, money, weapon etc.

Factors Behind the Failure of Iraq Army in Mosul

11.06.2014

The quick failure of the Iraqi Army’s 30,000 soldiers at the hands of Islamic State of Iraq and Sham (ISIS) in Mosul has political experts in a spin. They believe that the prompt withdrawal of the Iraqi Army is related to the ongoing Sunni-Shia sectarian conflict.

A source close to Iraqi Army operations in Mosul told BasNews that the army will be investigated to find out the reasons behind their desertion and discover why the soldiers decided to flee rather than defend the city.

The source said that Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki recently changed commanders of Iraqi Army forces. Two Shiite commanders were brought in to lead the army in Mosul, a city known to be the center of Sunni rebellion against Shiite-led Iraqi army.

“This decision might be the cause of the sectarian battle and the recent fightings,” added the source that spoke on condition of anonymity.

Another source told BasNews, ”ISIS would not have attacked Mosul if the Iraqi army had been there to defend themselves. The Iraqi Army has more than 30,000 soldiers who have plenty of weapons, whereas ISIS has just 1500 members. But when the Iraqi Army heard that ISIS was near Mosul they immediately changed into civilian clothes and fled their military stations”.

According to local reports, much of Mosul is currently under ISIS control, including government buildings, police stations, and army bases. Thousands of Mosul residents are escaping the city, choking checkpoints as they head for refuge in the Kurdistan Confederation .

Deserted Iraqi soldiers in Kurdistan are selling their weapons. These were the prices of some of the weapons they sold:

Price for AK47: 25,000 dinars (20 Dollars)
Sniper rifles: 200,000 dinars (170 Dollars)
Machine Guns (BKC): 400,000 dinars (340 Dollars)
RPGs: 500,000 dinars (425 Dollars)

Hahahahahaha, pathetic.

I would buy up everything, especially the AK47's.
21 dollars for an AK47... Lol.

I'd buy for $50,000 worth of weapons from them + steal all the cars, merchandise left behind.

You can create your own f**king militia with $50k with those prices lol.

It buys you:

1000 AK47's ($20K)
50 Sniper Rifles ($8.5K)
25 BKC ($8.5K)
25 RPG (+/- $10K)

Total: $47,000.

LOL.

What a bunch of cowards.

Iraqi brigades sells its entire gear to Peshmerga

After abandoning their positions from Mosul, Maliki's brigade ended up in Kifri, they had 70 military vehicles which have been sold to Peshmerga including all of their weapons.

"BKC was sold for 100k dinars ($90)" a Kifri citizen told NRT.

The brigade fled from ninevah, through to Duz Khurmatu, then to Jabara, and now they want to head back to Diyala without any of their gears.

ISIS released a voice statement saying "we will deal with maliki in Najaf and Karbala"

i think they want to take control of all iraq not just sunni areas, i dont think iran will allow shia areas to be touched.
