heard too many similar stories
True but I think IS unlike Al-Qaeda would suffer far more greatly. This is because the empathsis is on "the caliph abu-bakr al baghdadi". Hopefully this news is true, but we will see.
as I said it's not

More than 100 Canadians have offered to join Kurds in fight against ISIS
Quote:

Dozens of Canadians have volunteered to fight ISIS in recent days, the founder of a support group said Monday amid reports that military veterans from several Western countries had travelled to Syria and Iraq to take up arms against the extremists.

Ian Bradbury said more than 100 people have contacted him offering to enlist with Kurdish paramilitary forces since Friday, when the National Post reported that a former Canadian infantryman had left Alberta to fight the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham.

“The majority so far have definitely been Canadian,” said Mr. Bradbury. Former soldiers from the United Kingdom, United States, Australia, New Zealand and Norway had also expressed interest in joining forces with the Kurdish fighters, he said.

The response came after Dillon Hillier, a retired corporal who left the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry in March, said in an interview with the Post that he had arrived at a Kurdish Peshmerga base in KRG to join the battle against ISIS.

“I think that there were a lot out there thinking exactly as Dillon had been,” said Mr. Bradbury, an Ottawa veteran who recently launched the 1st North American Expeditionary Force to assist volunteers heading abroad to fight ISIS. “It’s really tugging at a lot of guys’ heartstrings.”
