Yeah we all know oil destroyed Kirkuk as all eyes fell on the city even today iraqis that were brought in by saddam refuse to leave but they remain settlers no matter what they are called "ashr talaf" which means 10000s which means the 10000 arab families saddam brought and installed in Kirkuk while kicked out many Kurds including my family.
Russian Girenak Joseph, who visited Kirkuk in Kurdistan as a part of his tour throu the 1870 - 1873 AD, who published the results of his trip & his studies later in 1879, in the 4th volume in the Bulletin of the Caucasus department of the Royal Geographical Russian Society estimated Kirkuk's population as many as 12-50,000 people, & he emphasized that except 40 Christian families, the rest of the population were Kurds. As for The Turkmen & Arabs, they have not been already existed at the time.

Najmaddin Kareem, the governor of Kirkuk, expressed his remorse for the misfortunes that Kirkuk has experienced in past years. He held a meeting on Wednesday, January 22nd which was attended by the Kurdistan neighborhood citizens in Kirkuk, the mayor of the municipality, the head of waste management, and the head of energy of Kirkuk.

Mr. Kareem acknowledged the hardships and oppression the people received during Saddam Hussein’s administrative years. He believes it is time for the people of Kirkuk to live with dignity and harmony.
He announced the proposed improvements the city will see in the coming year. The proposed projects include improvement to the sewage system, which will cost 2 billion IQD, and improvement to the city’s drinking water operation, which will cost 1 billion 600 million IQD. He also mentioned there would be several other projects implemented by the municipality costing 3 billion IQD.

What's up with the mullah speaking & only women with headscarf?
Did it have something to do with Islamic party?
You're from Kirkuk, are the Kurds influenced by the Islamic extremists who wander around ? Like terrorists/sunni shia extremists?

Kerkûk roads are still under restoration so you see parts of the city that still needs work, this all has started 2 years ago, there is some catching up to do with Suli and Hewlêr who have been fixing their roads since 2006..
