![]() 07 February 2013 23:51 Arınc emphasize US Ambassador should have remembered not to comment on political issues of Turkey. Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc said that US Ambassador in Ankara, Francis Ricciardone should have remembered that he was living in Turkey as a representative of the United States and that he should not have commented on political issues of Turkey while representing his country. Speaking on private SKY Turkey 360 TV channel, Bulent Arinc stressed that Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and he made criticisms on long detention periods in Turkey especially for military officers on duty. Any person may make comments on such detention periods but an ambassador of a foreign country should not make comments on Turkey's domestic issues, Arinc stressed. "What hurts our consciences is that detention for some continues for the past four, five years. This is the case for a professor, a commander, a journalist or an other person. We believe that the judges should have sufficient evidences by now. Whatever may happen, the period of detention must be as minimum as possible," Arinc also said. http://www.aa.com.tr/en/news/131060--foreign-country-should-not-make-comments-on-turkeys-domestic-issues |
