All inclusive, the oil fields of Northern Kurdistan produce some 13.000 barrels of oil a day. The biggest oil field in Northern Kurdistan is the Bati Raman oil field with 7.000 barrels a day, followed by Raman oil field with its 4.000 barrels a day. Both are situated in the patriotic Kurdish city of Elih ( Batman). A third oil field also operates in Elih - Garzan oil field with its 1.700 barrels a day. All in all Elih produces more oil than many other major Middle Eastern oil cities.

Several other minor oil fields exist in Northern Kurdistan. Some located in and around Elih, other located in the cities of Amed and Semsur ( Adiyaman).

Does anyone have detailed information on the recent TPAO oil find at Caliskan-1/Mt Cudi that was announced 5th May?
Oil quality found (API grade), sulphur content, etc....

Apart from what has been published in the Istanbul Gazette?

Any links would be much appreciated!

It isn't much, 13,000 - by 2018 it is probably 10,000 which will be only 0,003% of what South-Kurdistan will produce a day.
(South-Kurdistan will produce in 1 DAY what North-Kurdistan produces in 1 YEAR by 2018 :p ).

But it's still OUR OIL. Hopefully the company is Kurdish and the money goes to Kurds and not to the fascist backward Turk.

Russian Girenak Joseph, who visited Kirkuk in Kurdistan as a part of his tour throu the 1870 - 1873 AD, who published the results of his trip & his studies later in 1879, in the 4th volume in the Bulletin of the Caucasus department of the Royal Geographical Russian Society estimated Kirkuk's population as many as 12-50,000 people, & he emphasized that except 40 Christian families, the rest of the population were Kurds. As for The Turkmen & Arabs, they have not been already existed at the time.

Qandil does not belong to pkk only the N.kurd parts belong to them and I'm sure if there was oil E.Kurdistan parties or very old S.Kurdistan parties would have been using it already.

Can't we merge the WK,SK,NK,EK oil news into Kurdistan oil news and developments so we won't have these stupid discussions which fake border of Kurdistan the oil should belong to.

No Simko as each part is different in running oil affairs for most part of SK is actually in full control and selling its oil, soon it will be WK... if all 4 parts are run by 1 body then when can merge all 4.

Not fake news, but fake oil field. It is a human maid oil field, something like underground pipeline from SK to NK border stopping at the fake oil field. With this, iraq has no way/right to investigate the oil field.

Turkey says no to sharing oil revenue with Diyarbakir

14.04.2014

Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yaldiz turned down calls to allocate part of Diyarbakir’s oil revenue to the Kurdish city’s local community.

The statement was released in response to Diyarbakir Municipality co-chair Gultan Kishnak asking for a share of the province’s oil revenue.

“We say no to such a demand. It is not in our agenda at all,” said Yaldiz.

In a television interview, Kishnak explained that the municipality prepared a dossier for oil issues, including the number of oil wells, oil revenue and the oil’s final destination.

“We want our share of the natural resources that are being used in our region. Otherwise, let us export our oil and pay for all the expenses and taxes ourselves,” said Kishnak.

Yaldiz stressed that oil revenue, whether it be from Turkish National Oil and Gas Company (TPAO) or private companies, belongs to the government.

Kishnak won the municipality elections in Diyarbakir and was nominated co-chair of the municipality.

As the peace process continues in Turkey, Kurdish demands increase. They ask for a share of the area’s rich natural resources, as they are lacking in economic growth when compared to other regions in Turkey.
