Oh yeh, I remember that the Mayor of Dersim was from the CHP party. So would these protesters be Turks or Kurds who supports CHP? |

They could be from his tribe. They could be Kurds who think they are ''a seperate ethnicity called Zaza''. They could be people who still believe in CHP. Or they could be some of the MHP Turks living there. |

With my honest experience I doubt that there are many people who believe instantly in being only Zaza. And even less likely from Dersim. If not Kurd they usually consider themselves as Alevis. I had now enough time to observe these people and they are often Alevis(CHP), Islamists (AKP). Rarely they really care about being Zaza. |

PM: There Is No 'Turkish Spring' [14:17] 13/Jun/04 PNA - One of Turkey's biggest labor groups has thrown its weight behind the huge anti-government protests shaking the country. The Kesk trade union confederation has declared a two-day strike, accusing the government of committing "state terror" in trying to crush the protests, which are now in their sixth day, the BBC reports. Hundreds have been injured or arrested and the deaths of at least two protesters have been confirmed. The US has urged its ally to show more restraint, with John Kerry saying the White House is "concerned by the reports of excessive use of force by police," Reuters reports. Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, despite what is seen as the worst political crisis of his decade in power, departed for a four-day tour of North Africa yesterday after dismissing suggestions of a "Turkish Spring" and accusing the protesters of being "arm-in-arm with terrorists." His critics are calling his handling of what started out as a peaceful protest over plans to demolish a park more evidence of his slide into authoritarianism, the New York Times reports. Erdogan has a "highly majoritarian understanding of democracy," a political scientist at Istanbul's Bilgi University says. "He believes that with 51% of the vote he can rule in an unrestrained fashion. He doesn’t want checks and balances." http://www.peyamner.com/English/PNAnews.aspx?ID=312446 |
| Russian Girenak Joseph, who visited Kirkuk in Kurdistan as a part of his tour throu the 1870 - 1873 AD, who published the results of his trip & his studies later in 1879, in the 4th volume in the Bulletin of the Caucasus department of the Royal Geographical Russian Society estimated Kirkuk's population as many as 12-50,000 people, & he emphasized that except 40 Christian families, the rest of the population were Kurds. As for The Turkmen & Arabs, they have not been already existed at the time. | |

They are absolute subhumans. We have been fighting 4 countries, with the most barbaric, advanced and big armies since the 1910's and these noobs get fucked by their own weak counterparts after a few days. This was a good day. Turks hurting Turks. Arabs hurting Arabs. Hopefully soon Persians hurting Persians. |

How come there isn't any fights between Kurds who wave flags of PKK and Apo and Kemalists who wave the Turkish flag and Ataturk? Or are these Turkish leftists perhaps? Look at this picture:

Erdogan says controversial Taksim project goes on despite protests Turkey Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said his government will not take a back step in a project that involves the rebuilding of an Ottoman army barracks in Istanbul’s Taksim square despite the six-day ongoing protests against the project that has left three dead and hundreds injured. Speaking at a joint press conference with Tunisian counterpart Ali Laarayedh on Thursday, the Turkish PM said the project will be continued, Zaman daily reported. The protests started last Wednesday when a group of environmentalists from the Taksim Platform gathered in Gezi Park to protest against the government's plans to build a replica of Topcu Barracks over the park as part of a Taksim urban renewal project. Hundreds joined protesters after the police’s fierce behavior and using pepper spray and tear gas to disperse them. The protesters made a press statement after a group of their representatives met Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc yesterday, saying they were going to continue their “struggle” until their demands are met by the government through tangible steps. Very nice. Erdogan is too powerful and has vast majority of the votes, so he'll stay in power (which is good for the Kurdish cause). But the Turks will still be divided and they'll loose money, people get wounded/killed. All of it is karma for what they have done to us Kurds for the past decades. This is pay-back time for Syria, i-rack, Turkey and soon Persia. !! |

In all honesty, this is sickening to some degree. I mean, there is nothing wrong with Kurds and Turks coming to consensus. But Kurds have to be very careful that these kind of ''friendship images'' are not used as political tools by CHP and MHP. Kurds themselves must be very careful that they are not used as tools. Far too many times, Kurds have been bought off with this kind of cheap and very brief love. Reminds me of Canakkale. None the less, always good to see people making peace with each other as long as the peace is lasting and honest. Otherwise it is all just going to be politics. Also Kurds must know that we can never be brothers with Turks. Sure, we can live side by side as good neighbours, but never brothers. Not after all the atrocitieis they have committed. Turks should just be happy that Kurds are still ready for a peaceful solution. Any other people that has endured as much as Kurds would have cut off any kind of peaceful solution long time ago. |

They are no politicians. They only represent their own stupidity. I would NEVER hold a picture of any Kurdish leader or a Kurdish flag together with fascist kemalists / Turks! But these are probably hippie Turks who cry because they can't drink alcohol no more. How pathetic! We, Kurds, are fighting for a REAL CAUSE. They shouldn't re-unite with them, our causes are different and have NOTHING in common. The main reason why this sickens me, is simply because they are bringing the peace-process in danger by uniting with these ugly TUrks... FOR WHAT!?!? |

Thousands of supporters of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) set up barricades and threw petrol bombs at police vehicles following the funeral of a PKK rebel, whose body was found earlier this week by locals in a mountainous area. The recent wave of violent anti-government protests in Turkey has complicated the government's efforts to push ahead with a plan for PKK fighters and their supporters to relocate to South Kurdistan. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-8DVYEkhVY |

Notice how Turkish police never go on foot in when Kurds are protesting against them, but when it is Turks they do so, because they know Kurds know howto protest.
