And PS: very few people in SK work 30 hours a week LOL. You're talking about AT LEAST 30 hours, they don't even work that many hours now, without receiving the share LOL. I believe most people work only 4 or 5 hours per day, 4-5 days per week.

(Depends on your work of course. But there is no 8 to 5 mentality. There is a 8 to 12 - afternoon sleep - mentality xD ).

lol, let us reduce to 20 hours

Yes, or they should do this:

You either work the 20 hours, or they'll cut your share worth at least 20 hours of work.

So for example:

Each individual's share is $4,000 per month (for everyone the same, 1 month old baby gets the same as 80 year old person. If he is a veteran, he'll get more, but it's not part of this specific oil share).

Everyone has to work a minimum of 20 hours per week (except for children, students, the sick and elderly and veterans).
1 hour work equals $15 USD.

20 x 4 = 80 hours per month x 15 = $1,200 USD

So if you decide not to work, you'll receive 4,000 - 1,200 = $2,800 instead.

But there's more: someone who decides to work, will not only receive the 4K, but also the money for the amount of hours they have worked. So someone who works will get 4 + 1,2 = 5,200 a month, which is almost double the money of someone who doesn't work.

And those who work will also get other benefits, like extra's they receive at work and government support if they decide to study more.

So people will still have the choice of whether to work or not, but if they decide not to work, they'll at least receive $2,400 USD less every single month (-extra's and other benefits).

x 12 = Almost $30,000 USD.

I think most people will just work in this case :).
Maybe not everyone, there will always be people who won't work. And that's probably not because they are lazy, but because they don't really need it in the first place. There are a lot of Kurds who make tens of thousands every month, so a few thousand more or less won't really matter for them. Especially not if they have to work 80 hours for it, their time is too valuable. Or they just want to be lazy because they're already millionaires :p

I also think that SK should help other Kurds with the oil money. Not by giving them a share, but by other means. For example 80% of employers of Turkish companies must be Kurdish, and by giving poor Kurds in other parts of Kurdistan aid. THey should make a Kurdish red cross or something, only for Kurds. Like sending them food, or agricultural machines (for example tractors), doctors, teachers, and maybe even money, help the other Kurds produce more effectively and buy their food instead of from foreign importers.

Etc. :)

Believe me, Newshirwan doesn't need to have ''access'' to get it. He was the mastermind behind the 1991 revolution and 2003 operations against Saddam's army in Kerkûk. In 1991, he and his spies gained access to all Ba'ath HQ's within 24 hours, even as close as next to Saddam Hussein himself. He actually planned to assassinate Saddam, but the US stopped him from doing that because they knew it would escalate everything even more.

I don't know if the part about the 30m is true, but it is definitely not a matter of having access to it. He is a very smart man with a lot of support. He can get access to everything if he wants to, probably even into foreign governments.

Smart doesn't give you authority to gain access to things you can't reach, he is NOT in the Gov't so thus he CANT access to oil money simple, this sounds very stupid in the first place, PDK and PUK will not let him just walk in and take 30 mil lol and he has no 100 plus guards to flex his muscles either he aint a PUK or PDK guy who do these kind of things he is an opposition leader in case you forgot that part. and if there was proof for these lies, they would have been shown by now, it's PM and President who have access to oil money plus some PUK seniors that's it. As for his bravery that's it not doubt..

These things are what I call "droy shax dar" and it's purpose is only to hit his personality bcos we are going for elections ;) cheap shots

Gulf Keystone starts commercial production, ramp up on track

Oil firm Gulf Keystone, fresh from winning a court battle over its ownership of oil assets in Kurdistan, said commercial production started and was on track to rise to 20,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd) by the end of 2013.
The company said on Thursday that oil output from its Shaikan field, its prize asset from which it aims to produce as much as 150,000 bopd in the next three years, reached 12,400 bopd in early September and would continue to ramp up to 20,000 bopd by the end of the year.
Posting a loss of $26.4 million in the half-year period, Gulf Keystone said the ramp up in production would help it generate steady revenues.
The company said it was working hard on its goal to move from the London Stock Exchange's Alternative Investment Market (AIM) to the main market, which it is also targeting by the end of 2013.

Prime Minister Barzani signs gas supply agreement for Duhok power plant

Posted Image

At a ceremony today at the Ministry of Natural Resources, Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani signed a gas supply agreement with the Norwegian company DNO, which will provide natural gas to fuel the power plant in Duhok from the gas field at Summail.
The agreement was also signed by Ashti Hawrami, on behalf of the Ministry of Natural Resources, and a representative from Anglo-Turkish company Genel Energy, which has an interest in the Duhok production sharing contract that covers the Summail field.
The gas supply agreement marks an important step in the Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) policy to reduce its reliance on diesel to run the Region’s electricity generating stations.
It involves the development of an important domestic gas field by internationally experienced operators using advanced technologies for the benefit of the people of the South Kurdistan.
Prime Minister Barzani said, “This agreement will bring significant savings in the high cost of diesel imports to the Region and has important environmental benefits.”
Initially, around 100 million cubic feet of gas per day will be piped to the Duhok plant, sufficient to fuel four power generation units. Gas supplies are expected to increase from the Summail field as further appraisals and drilling take place.
The pipeline that will carry the gas some 50 kilometres to Duhok from Summail is under construction, with completion expected by November.
“With commissioning and tie-ins to the well, gas could be delivered as early as January 2014, but certainly no later than March,” Minister Hawrami said after the signing. “We are on track with our objective to fuel all the South Kurdistan’s electricity generating stations with natural gas in the next three years.”

Baghdad calls Kurdistan to link a new pipeline to the national network

Tuesday, 24 September 2013 12:49

Shafaq News / Hussain al-Shahristani , Iraq's Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs said on Tuesday that the federal government has asked South Kurdistan to link a new pipeline between Kirkuk and Ceyhan in Turkey, so as to allow Baghdad to measure the level of crude flow.

It is expected for Kurdistan to complete the new pipeline with capacity of 300 thousand barrels per day in the coming weeks which will enhance the control of the regional government on the disputed resources with Baghdad.

Shahristani said in a statement reported by Reuters briefed by "Shafaq News" that “he asked Kurdistan government to link the two lines before the pumping station to determine the size of crude flow but Baghdad has not received any response.

Building this line has angered the central government in Baghdad, which also does not recognize the contracts signed by Kurdistan with international energy companies to develop its oil fields.

The region stopped pumping oil into the government pipeline that connects Kirkuk with Turkish port of Ceyhan since last year to protest against Baghdad for not paying the dues of foreign companies in Kurdistan.

The two sides did not reach a final agreement in the wealth management file which pushed Kurdistan to extend an oil pipeline to Turkey to export produced oil in its fields.

Kurdish leaders must support a corrupt government in Baghdad. The i-racki leaders have to be corrupt and selfish. Because if their leaders are corrupt, they will be willing to sell us anything. It is essential that a corrupt i-racki Arab government stays in power for the sake of Kurdish progress and security. Corruption = weakness and loss of support. We don't need a powerful i-racki government/army in the South, we already have to deal with Iran and a War zone in the West.

Proposed National Oil Company to Give Hewlêr More Control over Oil Industry

Hewlêr , South Kurdistan – southern autonomous South Kurdistan has announced a major plan that would give it full control of its oil industry and create a monetary fund whose revenues would be directly shared with the enclave’s five million citizens.

Ashti Hawrami, minister of natural resources in the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), told Rudaw television last week that his ministry had sent two proposals to the Kurdistan parliament, one for the creation of the Kurdistan National Oil Company (KNOC) and the other for the monetary fund.

“Two separate draft proposals to establish (KNOC) -- and a monetary fund where its revenues would go -- have been sent to the Kurdistan parliament for approval,” Hawrami said.

“Its revenue will go directly to the Kurdistan citizens,” he said, adding that each family would end up receiving $1,200 once oil output targets hit one million barrels per day in 2015.

“The annual revenue for each family would be somewhere around US$1,200, if Kurdistan’s oil export rises to one million barrel per day,” Hawrami said. He advised citizens to invest their shares for the benefit of future generations.

KNOC would account for three percent of Kurdistan’s total oil revenues.

“The initiative pushes Kurdistan’s oil industry into a whole new level,” Hawrami said.

Hawrami’s announcement came in the midst of Kurdistan’s parliamentary election campaigns, in which the ruling Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) has secured the largest number of votes, according to early results from Saturday’s polls.

Hawrami said he hoped that the draft projects would be the next parliament’s priorities for discussion. He said he hoped that KNOC would attract more oil companies, train hundreds of Kurdish employees in oil-sector jobs and give the KRG complete control over its oil industry.

The proposed plan is likely to sour Erbil-Baghdad relations even further. Baghdad insists that Hewlêr does not have the right to sign direct oil exploration and sales contracts without the central government’s intercession. Hewlêr maintains it has the constitutional right, and has largely ignored Baghdad’s terse objections.

Hawrami said that the South Kurdistan’s oil law has clearly mentioned the establishment of KNOC.

National oil companies play a significant role in developing local economies as well as their oil sectors. Oftentimes, they require technical support and skilled manpower and seek partnerships with big oil companies.

According to the United States Energy information Administration, NOCs account for 52 percent of global oil production and control 88 percent of proven oil reserves.

Kurdish villagers in South Kurdistan vow to halt drilling by American oil giant Chevron

DUHOK, South Kurdistan 'KRG',— The inhabitants of two Kurdish villages say U.S. energy giant Chevron has not honored promises to improve living conditions in their areas and supply them with service projects.

Hundreds of villagers demonstrated against the firm which had signed an exploration oil deal in the area of Bardarash in the Kurdish Province of Duhok.

The villagers say they will not allow Chevron to start drilling oil wells in their areas unless it meets their demands.

Two villages, close to where Chevron is to start drilling, have been involved in the protest.

Their inhabitants say they have given the company an ultimatum.

“The demonstrators have given Chevron one month to implement utility projects in the villages and in the event of the firm failing to honor its promises we shall prevent it from carrying out its activities in our areas,” said Riyadh Muhideen, who speaks for the demonstrators.

The two villages are part of the district of Bardarash, the center of an agricultural plateau of the same name.

The area is reported to be holding billions of barrels of proven oil reserves.

Muhideen said representatives from Chevron held meetings with the villagers but no agreement has been reached.

He urged Kurdistan regional government KRG, which granted Chevron the deal to develop oil in Bardarash, to pressure the company to meet the villagers’ demands.

The villagers want Chevron to construct a road linking the two villages with each other and the surrounding areas, as well as the building of a sports stadium and a community center.

They want priority in jobs to be given to those living in villages close to the oil wells Chevron will be developing.

How much does KRG get, how much does Chevron get?
Here we go again...

First i would like to say that i think that Chevron should contribute to the villages.

But also, kurdistan need theese companies. First the small juniors came in and now majors.
Kurds dont have the equipment or the knowledge to explore and produce oil.

Read my previous post http://w11.zetaboards.com/Kurdistanskyscrapers/single/?p=8084179&t=8915716

How much Chevron makes per barrel? Nothing

Their field havent been taken into production yet, they barley have started drilling.

Also, noone is making money exporting oil in kurdistan, except genel.. They sell a barrel for like 70-80$..

The companies are taking HUGE risks in kurdistan.
No export in over 6 months and even when they exported via Baghdad they didnt get paid..

But when export is up and running in the future it will look like this.

Brent price of oil is 110$ but Bagdad sells their oil for 90-100$ a barrel.

Call it 100$ makes it easier to count.

In the begining the companies get to keep more per barrel to recover the money they spent looking for oil, drilling and building productionfacilities.

They would get to keep about 48$ and i-rack 52$.

But when they have recovered the money spent they get to keep 10$ per barrel and i-rack 90$

So in the begining 48/52 % but in the long run 10/90 % split between IOCs and i-rack

Ministry of natural resources plans to introduce GPS tracking on oil trucks in Kurdistan

The South Kurdistan’s Ministry of Natural Resources plans to introduce a GPS on oil tanker trucks to ensure cheap petrol is not being sold off to gas stations.

A committee has also been formed to constantly watch the gas stations, and that the system would allow officials to monitor the quality and amount of gas each station receives.

Director Nizar Abdulla from the Erbil Fuel Department said that 2.5 million liters of petrol is sold to gas stations in Erbil every day.

“The gas stations only pay 480 dinars per liter and they are required to sell it for 500 dinars,” he added.

However gas station owners complained that the government does not provide them with enough fuel therefore forcing them to turn to the black market to purchase supplies.

Senior Kurdish official: Baghdad and BP agreement is illegal

Shafaq News / A Senior Kurdish official said on Wednesday that the agreement concluded by Baghdad with BP to develop Kirkuk oil field is “illegal” and violates the Constitution.

Kirkuk (250 km north east of Baghdad) is of the disputed areas between the central government and South Kurdistan. It was hoped to settle the dispute under Article 140 of the Constitution at the end of 2007, but the security tensions and political divisions prevented it.

The deputy of the Parliament Speaker, Aref Tayfur criticized the Ministry of Oil in the federal government for signing an agreement with "BP" British oil Exploration Company in Kirkuk field and make a full survey without the knowledge of the local government.

Tayfur said in a statement received by “Shafaq News “ that “ signing this contract is illegal and violates the Constitution because Kirkuk is a disputed area and subjected to Article 140 of the Iraqi Constitution “.

“The British company BP has a black history as it has recruited customers in the fifties and planted discord among components in Kirkuk”.

Baghdad and BP agreement in early September last year allows the British company - which currently runs Rumaila , the largest oil field in Iraq - to negotiate to access huge reserves in the north for helping Baghdad to halt the sharp decline of oil production from Kirkuk field .

Tayfur demanded Minister of Oil , Abdul Karim al-Luaibi and Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs , Hussain al-Shahristani to " take into account the sensitive circumstance in the country and to refrain from concluding contracts and agreements with foreign Petroleum companies and control resources of the people , especially in the disputed areas as differences still exist around these areas “.

It is worth mentioning that the spokesman for the Ministry of Natural Resources in Kurdistan said after the agreement that , " the position of Kurdistan Regional Government has not changed in this regard and it will not allow any company to operate in the disputed territories , including Kirkuk without formal approval from the government and its participation”.

The pipeline finished just before the peace process started in NK and Turkey and at the same time Peshmerga took back Kerkuk. So, everything happening in NK and SK is connected to this pipeline, which will also in the near future connect Kerkuki oil and the small oil reserves in NK(and probably WK oil). I have sources but cannot say more than it is someone in the government who told me :)
