Iran ‘to build oil and gas pipelines soon’ to south Kurdistan May 8, 2014 KT News: Iran Pakistan gas pipeline Iran will soon construct a natural gas pipeline and crude oil pipeline to south Kurdistan, says Anadolu Agency quoting Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) officials. The first pipeline will carry crude oil from the South Kurdistan to Iran, and Iran will refine and send back the oil. The natural gas pipeline will carry Iranian gas to Kurdish cities such as Sulaimani and Irbil, according to the report. Iran and KRG officials were in negotiations on these projects yesterday, Abullah Akrayi, KRG official responsible for Iranian Affairs, told the Anadolu Agency. He said the talks began last year but the construction work had been delayed due to the resignation of the Iranian oil minister, Rostam Qasimi. “Iran will supply the oil and gas that we need. We expect that the [Kurdish] delegation and Iranian officials will come to a conclusion,” he said. Iran’s Deputy Oil Minister for International Affairs, Ali Majedi, announced yesterday that Iran is ready to export natural gas to Europe, adding that this would reduce Europe’s dependence for gas on Russia. Iran has the world’s second-largest known natural gas reserves. http://kurdistantribune.com/2014/iran-build-oil-gas-pipelines-soon-south-kurdistan/ |

So they are gonna supply us with gas in return of crude oil? iranian gas is of VERY LOW quality. All the cars are run on gas yet their air is extremely dirty, I know, my family are constantly complaining, sometimes they even add some water so the cars somtime stop runing. So it's important that when SK are capable of refining their own gas they do it and let professional companies do it. |

DNO foot on Kurdish oil accelerator OSLO, Norway, May 8 (UPI) -- Norwegian oil company DNO International said Thursday it accelerated the rate at which it sent oil from Bashur to storage facilities in Turkey. DNO said its production for the first quarter of 2014 was 45,744 barrels of oil equivalent per day, which includes oil from the Tawke field in the Kurdistan region. Oil deliveries from Tawke have accelerated since late April and now average around 100,000 barrels per day. "We have our foot firmly on the accelerator in Kurdistan where we are now the fastest growing producer and also number one in proven and probable oil and gas reserves," Executive Chairman Bijan Mossavar-Rahmani said in a statement. The company estimates the Tawke field can produce more than 120,000 bpd, with the balance set aside for the local Kurdish market. A pipeline from the Kurdish north is sending oil to storage tanks in Ceyhan, a Turkish sea port. Exports of Kurdish oil, however, have faced delays because of the lingering stalemate between the Kurdish and central governments over who controls what in the Iraqi energy sector. Company Boosts Kurdish Oil Exports to Turkey By Harvey Morris 35 minutes ago The impasse meant the company’s third quarter net profit of $24 million came in below analysts’ estimates. LONDON - DNO International ASA, a Norwegian oil and gas company, has stepped up exports of crude from Kurdistan’s Tawke field in recent days and an average 100,000 barrels per day (bpd) are reaching storage facilities at Ceyhan in Turkey, the company reported. DNO, an early entrant into the KRG oil sector, produces 120,000 bpd from the Tawke field, with the balance sold below market prices to the local market in Kurdistan. The outgoing crude is mounting up unsold at Ceyhan, pending resolution of the continuing dispute between Erbil and Baghdad over control of the region’s hydrocarbons. The step-up in deliveries began on April 26. The impasse meant the company’s third quarter net profit of $24 million came in below analysts’ estimates. Company chairman Bijan Mossavar-Rahmani, reporting the quarterly results in Oslo this week, highlighted DNO’s position as the fastest growing producer in the KRG with the largest proved and probable reserves of oil and gas. He noted that the Tawke field was the largest onshore oil discovery in the world in the past 10 years. "We have our foot firmly on the accelerator in Kurdistan where we are now the fastest growing producer and also number one in proven and probable oil and gas reserves," Mossavar-Rahmani said. He said that during the first quarter DNO had brought two more high deliverability horizontal wells into production as part of a program to have nine such wells completed by the end of 2014. Capacity was expected to reach 200,000 bpd by year-end. Elsewhere in Kurdistan, the company has started selling oil from the Benenan field and the first gas from the Summail field. In an interview with Bloomberg News, Mossavar-Rahmani said he believed the company was moving closer to selling the oil held at Ceyhan. “We’re closer than ever,” Bloomberg quoted him as saying. “The last remaining piece of this is the access to international markets in terms of both security of movement and in terms of payments. And we’re getting there.” Storage facilities at Ceyhan are rapidly approaching capacity and the DNO chairman said that situation would force a solution. “Either this will trigger an unlocking of this impasse with respect to Kurdistan exports, or it’ll cause us to try to continue to focus on the local market,” he told Bloomberg. Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yildiz confirmed this week that the flow of oil from the KRG to Turkey had resumed, adding: "Turkey only facilitates the procedure and paves the way. The sales may begin within three days or a week." A senior advisor at Kurdistan’s Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) meanwhile said: “We ask buyers to participate in tenders to sell Kurdistan oil.” http://rudaw.net/english/kurdistan/090520142 |

KRG Natural Resources Minister visits Iran to discuss export of Kurdish oil 08.05.2014 Hemin Salih On the invitation of the Iranian Government, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Natural Resources Minister Ashti Hawrami has visited Tehran to hold talks with Iranian officials about exporting KRG oil to Iran. According to information obtained by BasNews, KRG Natural Resources Minister Ashti Hawrami has joined a delegation in Iran to discuss the export of oil. In his visit to Tehran, Hawrami is expected to discuss the possibility of building oil pipelines between the South Kurdistan and Iran for the export of crude oil to Iran. A BasNews source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, also revealed that Hawrami’s visit to Iran follows an economic agreement signed by Iran and the KRG last month to expand energy relations. The source also said that it is expected that in return for the crude oil exported by the KRG, Iran will export natural gas to the South Kurdistan. http://www.basnews.com/en/News/Details/KRG-Natural-Resources-Minister-visits-Iran-to-discuss-export-of-Kurdish-oil/19815 |

one is for exporting unrefined Kurdish oil(crude) in exchange Iran will export gas through the other one. I'm just worried about the low quality of the gas but if we do also get the option to export our oil through their ports then it will give us alot of leverage, not only money wise but strategically aswell |

Ukrainian crisis raises demands for Kurdistan’s natural gas 12.05.2014 Mewan Dolamari The dean of Nawroz University in Dohuk in South Kurdistan, Azad Ahmed pointed out that the crisis in Ukraine is pushing European countries to turn towards the South Kurdistan for gas resources. In an interview with Anadolu Agency, Ahmed stated that because of the Ukrainian crisis, there has been a rise in demand for natural gas from most European countries due to the sanctions that have been put on Russia. “From the start of the crisis, countries have turned their attention for gas to the South Kurdistan,” said Ahmed. About the oil pipelines of the South Kurdistan to Cihan port Ahmed noted that due to the crisis between Russia and Ukraine, it has forced the European countries to find an alternative for their gas demands. For this reason the process of exporting Kurdistan’s gas to Europe has been easier. Furthermore, Ahmed believes almost one year from now, Kurdistan might have the opportunity to export its natural gas through pipeline to Turkey and then to European countries. “Based on the plans of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), Kurdish natural gas was set to be exported abroad after seven years, but the crisis between Ukraine and Russia has led to the US and European countries to put economic sanctions on Russia. Therefore, the exportation of Kurdistan’s natural gas will start much earlier than it has been planned which means that Russia’s role in providing gas is likely to be replaced by the South Kurdistan,” added Ahmed. He states that following the crisis, even the visits of the western countries to Kurdistan have increased largely in which they have met both KRG President Massoud Barzani and KRG PM Nechirvan Barzani regarding exporting gas to Europe through Turkey. “The disputes between South Kurdistan and the federal government of Iraq won’t hinder the process of exporting Kurdish gas to Turkey. No matter whether Baghdad confirms or not, KRG will export its oil because the KRG has the right to export, but constitutionally KRG will face problems,” added Ahmed. copyright © 2013 basnews http://m.basnews.com/en/News/Details/Ukrainian-crisis-raises-demands-for-Kurdistan-s-natural-gas/20102 |

Kurdistan delegation led by Tory millionaire Nadhim Zahawi raises concerns that MPs will be vulnerable to lobbying The All-Party Parliamentary Group for Kurdistan, which is chaired by a prominent Conservative MP, was funded in part by one of the region’s biggest oil firms, it has emerged. Millionaire Tory Nadhim Zahawi recently led a delegation of MPs on a four-day trip to the region in his role as co-chair of the APPG on Kurdistan. The locations they visited included an oil field operated by another energy firm in which Mr Zahawi has publicly declared he has shares. Also in attendance was Gary Kent, who is paid directly by Gulf Keystone Petroleum International to provide secretariat services for the APPG. Gulf’s parent company, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange but registered in Bermuda, is a major oil player in Kurdistan. The fact that Mr Kent’s services to the APPG are paid for by Gulf Keystone is fully disclosed on its Parliamentary entry and such funding is entirely permissible under Parliamentary rules. But those rules themselves will come under scrutiny today as MPs debate whether APPGs could be vulnerable to lobbying and conflicts of interest. The Kurdistan APPG’s report on its own delegation’s visit noted that three weeks later both Mr Zahawi and Mr Kent returned to the region to attend the annual Iraq-Kurdistan Oil and Gas Conference in Erbil. The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), which also provides “additional administrative services” for the APPG, paid for the MPs’ visit in November 2013 and also Mr Kent’s trip to the conference, which was attended by 850 executives from the energy industry. Mr Zahawi, who was born in Baghdad to Kurdish parents and whose family fled Saddam Hussein’s regime in the 1970s, told Parliament in a debate on UK-Kurdistan bilateral relations last year that it should come as “no surprise” that he has “significant interest” in the region. Mr Zahawi, who has been invited as a speaker at each of the three annual oil and gas conferences since the inaugural event in 2011, told The Independent he attended in “a personal capacity” and that his trip was not funded by the APPG or KRG. MPs will debate a motion in the Commons today to implement proposals from their Standards Committee on regulating their activities. Following the resignation of MP Patrick Mercer, who created an APPG as part of a paid lobbying effort, there is anxiety that such groups can be vehicles for improper lobbying. But there is also concern that tighter rules could destroy groups which many believe do valuable work. There is no suggestion of any impropriety in relation to the Kurdistan APPG. Labour MP John Mann said the proliferation of APPGs has raised questions of transparency and welcomed today’s Commons debate. He said: “Some APPGs don’t advertise what they are doing which brings into question what they are there for. In particular, why are people having a secretariat paid for by big business? There might be a very good reason for that but it needs to be totally up front and if there’s money and profits involved we need to know who is benefiting. Transparency is key.” On the APPG’s itinerary during its trip in November last year was a visit to an oil field run by Genel Energy, the Anglo-Turkish oil and gas exploration firm run by former BP boss Tony Hayward. Mr Hayward has also attended the Iraq-Kurdistan Oil and Gas Conferences, having been invited to speak each year, Genel Energy was formed from the $2.1bn merger of UK-based Vallares Plc with Turkish-based Genel Enerji in 2011. During his time promoting UK-Kurdistan economic links in his role as co-chair of the APPG on Kurdistan, Mr Zahawi became a major shareholder in Genel Energy. He declared the investment last June in the MPs’ register of interests and such investment is permissible under parliamentary rules. The Stratford-upon-Avon MP declined to answer questions from The Independent on what the value of his shareholding is. According to Parliamentary rules, an MP must register a shareholding if its value is at least 100 per cent of their salary – which for a backbench MP is currently £67,060. Last November the Commons Standards Committee proposed a package of reforms “to improve transparency, accountability and clarity” on APPGs. Their report said: “APPGs can do a great deal of good, but it is reasonable to ask questions about their sources of funding and about external influences on their activity”. MPs on the standards committee welcomed the decision last year to withdraw Commons passes from APPG staff but said there was still “great concern” over their susceptibility to lobbying. The committee cited a survey of MPs where 48 per cent of respondents agreed with the proposition that APPGs were prone to be manipulated by lobby groups for their own purposes. Labour has also asked Mr Zahawi to answer questions on whether there has been any blurring of business interests with the APPG. Shadow Cabinet Office Minister Jonathan Ashworth said: “As co-chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Kurdistan and a member of David Cameron’s No 10 Policy Board he needs to ensure no conflicts of interest have arisen.” Mr Zahawi told The Independent: “Genel Energy is a well-respected PLC registered in the UK with interests across the Middle East and Africa, not just in Kurdistan. Like many thousands of other investors I chose to buy their shares, that are publicly traded on the UK stock exchange, on the strength of their business. I have never spoken with Tony Hayward about my shareholding nor have I been privy to any insider information. “My ownership of shares in Genel Energy is properly declared in the Register of Member Interests. I do not mix my personal interests with my work as a member of the APPG. Should MPs never invest in UK companies that have business interests in a country in which they travel to as a parliamentarian? Would that include European countries, or America?” Mr Zahawi insists the APPG is not “open to any improper lobbying”. He said: “The secretariat sponsorship is declared in the proper way and no member of the group has ever lobbied or acted in any way for Gulf Keystone.” Addressing his trip to the oil conference, he added: “My visit was not a follow-up visit nor was it with Mr Kent. I did not attend any meetings with Mr Kent. I did not travel with Mr Kent. I was attending in a personal capacity. As you know I am of Kurdish heritage so do visit the region regularly and did so before becoming a member of Parliament. Since entering Parliament I have always made sure that my personal visits are completely separate.” Gary Kent said the APPG is not open to improper lobbying. He said: “I have not advocated or lobbied for [Gulf Keystone]. I am not expected to do so and have no expertise in energy issues in any case. The financial support given to the APPG is properly declared in Parliament and only enables me to help our independent advocacy of improved links between the UK and the South Kurdistan. “Our absolute priority is that British companies and public institutions such as universities don’t miss the opportunity to contribute to the renewal of the South Kurdistan for their mutual benefit.” A spokesman for Genel Energy said neither the company nor Mr Hayward would comment. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/kurdistan-delegation-led-by-tory-millionaire-nadhim-zahawi-raises-concerns-that-mps-will-be-vulnerable-to-lobbying-9359279.html |

By accepting our oil they do accept our existence. But at this moment we're selling our oil through Turkye. I think Turkye wants to have control to which countries we Kurds sell our oil. And I don’t think that turkey will agree that Israel will supply Kurdistan with weapons. If Israel supplies Kurds with weapons, Turkey can stop transportation of Kurdish oil into Israel. We have to find another alternative to sell our oil to Israel! |

Did you guys also read the news item of Israel offering help to Turkey bcuz of Mine collapse, after all the tensions between them? Hmm, very ''suspicious'', Israel start receiving Kurdish oil via Turkey, and they wants to ease the tensions. And if Rojava is liberated, hopefully with access to sea, Turkey won't be even 100% needed anymore. Also, oil pipeline through Iran... Our politicians are smart, they make sure they have lots of options :). Basically, they are currently dealing with 3 countries who all hate each other: Turkey hates Israel Iran hates Israel Israel hates Iran And SK sells oil to all 3 of them. Muwahaha, brilliant. |

Israel, U.S. import disputed crude oil from South Kurdistan Israeli and U.S. oil refineries have joined the growing list of customers for crude from South Kurdistan, a region locked in a bitter struggle with the central government in Baghdad that says the sales are illegal. The United States imported its first crude cargo from the region two weeks ago while at least four have gone to Israel since January, ship tracking and industry sources said, after two were shipped there last summer. The Iraqi government has repeatedly said oil sales bypassing Baghdad are illegal and has threatened to sue any company involved in the trade, yet Kurdish crude and light condensate oil has been sold to several European buyers. Baghdad refuses to sell oil to Israel, echoing other Arab states. Israel's Energy Ministry declined to comment, saying that it does not discuss the country's sources of oil. A senior Iraqi oil ministry official said Baghdad had no information on the sales but was investigating. "If these reports are correct, then dire consequences will be inevitable," the Iraqi oil official said. "This is a seriously dangerous development. We have always warned the region to stop smuggling Iraqi crude by trucks to Turkey...and now if this is proved true then they are going too far." An official of Kurdistan's Ministry of Natural Resources said from the region's capital Hewlêr : "The Kurdish Regional Government (KRG) has not sold crude directly or indirectly to such destinations." The stakes are high as Kurdistan's independent oil sales allow it to receive income outside Baghdad's budget, pushing it towards even greater autonomy. Tensions reached a new pitch this week after Kurdistan's president said Iraq had been led in an authoritarian direction by Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and threatened to end the region's participation in the federal government. The deals involve major international commodity traders, including Trafigura, one of the top three oil traders in the world, trading and shipping sources said. A spokeswoman for Trafigura declined to comment. The sales come as the KRG and Baghdad aim to complete long-running negotiations over a pipeline Hewlêr built to Turkey to circumvent the central government monopoly. Hewlêr began pumping crude through to the Turkish port of Ceyhan on the Mediterranean in January but stopped short of selling it, under the threat of budget cuts from Baghdad. Storage tanks are now nearly full with 2.4 million barrels, trading and shipping sources close to the matter said. Exports of this oil could start as early as later this month. Tracking Shipments South Kurdistan began selling its oil independently of the federal government in 2012 with a small trickle of condensate trucked through Turkey, followed by two types of crude oil. Baghdad says only its state oil company is authorised to sell Iraqi crude, but both sides claim the constitution is on their side and with a crucial hydrocarbon law stuck in draft mode, there is room to manoeuvre. A Turkish company called Powertrans is the broker for the Kurdish government, selling the oil via tenders to traders. Much of the crude has gone to Trieste, Italy while the condensate has gone to France, Germany, the Netherlands and even Latin America. The tanker Marinoula discharged around 265,000 barrels of heavy sour Iraqi Shaikan crude oil at the Oiltanking terminal in Houston on May 1, shipping sources said and Reuters AIS Live ship tracking showed. The identity of the buyer was unclear as the terminal is connected to 23 refining, production and storage facilities scattered between the Gulf Coast and Cushing, Oklahoma. The crude was loaded by trading company Petraco at the Delta Rubis terminal at Dortyol in Turkey, one of two ports that export Kurdish oil, the sources said. The company declined to comment. At least four cargoes laden with Kurdish crude went to Israel since the start of this year. Trading sources said that Israel's Oil Refineries Limited's (ORL) plant at Haifa ran some of it. Paz Oil Company, owner of a refinery near Ashdod, bought at least two cargoes within the last 9 months, traders said. A spokesman for ORL said "ORL purchases its crude oil from different sources in accordance with the refinery's needs and market conditions." A spokeswoman for Paz denied the plant had used Kurdish crude. Some Kurdish oil has also been simply stored, sources said. Geneva-based trading company Mocoh lifted Shaikan crude from Dortyol in Turkey on the Baltic Commodore, which arrived in Ashkelon in Israel on Jan. 31, market sources and ship-tracking showed. An official at the company said that "Israeli refineries are not necessarily using this crude," but declined to elaborate. Trafigura sent a cargo of Kurdish crude to Israel on the Hope A tanker, which went first to Ashkelon and then to Haifa between Feb 10-15. The Kriti Jade loaded Kurdish crude in Turkey and then sailed to Ashkelon on March 3 and then Haifa a few days later, the sources and ship-tracking showed. The second tanker, Kriti Sea, picked up Kurdish oil around March 5. The vessel then anchored off Limassol, Cyprus but did not discharge crude. Petraco lifted both cargoes. Instead it left still laden and tracking was switched off between May 17-20 near the Israeli coast. When it reappeared, still close to Israel, the tanker was empty. http://www.haaretz.com/mobile/1.590910?v=A06344811237B43D18A39BEB7A147F16 Finally Iraq's "parking" oh sorry I meant barking bypassed thank you KRG, and it's actually milki smuggling oil since we Kurds fought for KRG while this mercenary milki was installed by USA, and still been fully serviced by his American masters. Note: parking = barking in Iraq bcos they don't have the letter P

Not sure if any of you guys are in to this New world Order/ Illuminati, but if they do what they want to do, then dollar will fall and oil will be worthles, but gold will be the real power to have. So we better use this years very smart and archive some great ground for Kurdish cause. |

Yes, I will buy some gold soon. I want to minimize paper money as much as possible, petrodollar is artificially kept high, the Federal Reserve's print new money constantly, without anything backing it. Gold keeps its value, as it is scarce and in high demand. Also, Kurdistan has rejected reports of oil sales to US & Israel after Baghdad said that ''Selling oil to Israel damages Iraq's status in the Arab world.'' http://rudaw.net/english/kurdistan/16052014 Israel Resources Minister has refused to answer the question if Kurdish oil was sold to them. The report (Kurdish oil being sold to Israel, US, Netherlands, etc.) was first published by Reuters. Edited by Worldwar2boy, May 16 14, 8:40.
