Nechirvan Barzani: We need common understanding to nationalize Kurdish oil [22:53] 14/Jun/04 Saed Abdullah PNA – In a special Kurdistan Parliament session with members of Parliament, Kurdish Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani said that exporting and selling Kurdish oil is Kurd’s constitutional rights. Barzani, who was at the Parliament to explain the KRG strategies regarding the region’s oil policies, said that they don’t want to separate from Iraq. “Selling oil is our constitutional rights and we don’t look at it as a step toward independence,” he said at the Parliament. Barzani also said that they have made the region’s people to be used to become government employees. “On monthly basis we spent about 850 billion Iraqi Dinars just to provide government salaries in the region,” he revealed. Furthermore, Barzani said that his government needs about $31 billion for construction and completion of the projects. “Also the Kurdish budget share is %17, however the Iraqi government only sends 10 percent of it,” added Barzani. In the end he explained that they want to nationalize Kurdish oil sale and treat it as a national matter. http://www.peyamner.com/English/PNAnews.aspx?ID=339624 |

SECOND TANKER LOADED WITH KRG OIL SAILS FROM CEYHAN Ali Ünal Published : 05.06.2014 20:44:34 Second tanker loaded with KRG oil sails from CeyhanCEYHAN — Despite the fact that contradictory information has been reported regarding the first shipment of crude oil from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) via Ceyhan Port, officials from the Turkish Ministry of Energy confirmed that KRG oil is being sold on the world market and the second crude oil tanker has also departed from Ceyhan. "The first tanker loaded with KRG oil was sold to the world market and more vessels will be loaded at Ceyhan," a senior official at the Turkish Ministry of Energy announced. "As Turkey our stance is the same. In this regard we believe that this oil belongs to Iraq and therefore we were not involved in the sale, however, according to information provided to us, the first shipment of crude oil which departed from Ceyhan last week has already been sold and we will continue to export the oil transparently," the Turkish official added. In line with Turkish officials, KRG officials announced that the tanker arrived at its final destination, "The tanker [carrying Kurdish oil] has reached its destination," said KRG Spokesman Safeen Dizayee. He emphasized that the price of Kurdish oil exported abroad has not been lowered. We are insisting on exporting oil, and it is sold according to market price and quality," he added. The Marshall Islands-registered tanker United Leadership carrying more than 1 million barrels of KRG oil departed from the Turkish port of Ceyhan on May 23 and has been anchored outside of the port of the Moroccan coastal city of Mohammedia since Tuesday morning. The port is the delivery point for the Samir Mohammedia refinery. In an effort to look into allegations that oil from the KRG was bought by the Samir refinery and the vessel is unloading its shipment, Daily Sabah reached out to officials from the Samir refinery, however, they declined to comment on the topic. Meanwhile, according to information obtained from the Ceyhan Oil Terminal Port, a second crude oil tanker loaded about 1 million barrels of oil from the KRG has already set sail. Vessel tracking services confirm that the Malta registered crude oil tanker SeaMusic left Ceyhan port Thursday morning and was heading toward its first destination in Trieste, Italy. A crude oil trader based in London who spoke Daily Sabah anonymously also confirmed that Kurdish oil was being sold. "The sale of first Kurdish crude is already done. I cannot identify name of buyer company but it's one of the big players in the market." Furthermore the oil trader affirmed that market players are ready to buy more oil from the KRG without any hesitation. Regarding the sale of the KRG crude oil, Shwan Zulal from London-based Carduchi Consulting commented that hesitation in the market is temporary. "I think [saying] the world market is falling over themselves to buy Kurdish crude is a little premature but they certainly appear to have buyers and that is what matters for now. The world market will come later." Zulal also added that he does not expect major obstacles for the forthcoming oil trade. "The obstacles are largely internal issues and Turkish relations with Iraq but that does not seem to matter that much given the first shipment has gone out and we all saw an ICC arbitration which Turkey has not taken much notice of. Companies or countries are cautious about Kurdish crude because they do not want to be dragged into an internal dispute in another country." |

Italy warns oil traders off Kurdish tanker (Reuters) - Italy has warned oil traders they face potential legal action from Baghdad if they buy disputed exports of crude from South Kurdistan, in the latest setback for the autonomous region in its struggle with the central government over oil sales. A letter from the Italian Industry Ministry warned traders and refineries that the Iraqi government had told its embassy in Baghdad that such crude sales were illegal, and they could face penalties from its oil marketing arm, SOMO. "SOMO reserves the right to take legal action against the buyer of such a cargo," said the letter, dated June 4. Two copies of the letter were provided to Reuters by traders at separate companies, including one at an Italian refinery. A spokesperson at the Italian Department of Energy was not immediately available to comment. While the letter stopped short of saying Italian refineries would be barred from buying the oil, it is the first sign that European countries are responding to pressure from Baghdad. http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/06/06/us-iraq-kurdistan-oil-italy-idUSKBN0EH18020140606?rpc=401&feedType=RSS&feedName=worldNews&rpc=401 |

US works for own interests who doesn't but when it's done at the expense of Kurds then we can't accept that. It's Obama who is objecting SK break away he wants to score good US leader in history for himself but that's his problem and we Kurds have nothing to do with his wishes. withdrawing from iraq and now Afghanistan are also part of his guest to go down as a great leader in history but our interests clashes with his apparently. |

Russia is the same sh*zz. I spoke with the Russian officials recently and i found out that the Russians don't support Kurdish nationalism. Also Russians don’t want to change the map of the Middle East. Everybody still wants that Kurds in Rojava will continue to live with Syrian Arabs, Kurds in Bakur will live together with Iraqi Arabas, Kurds in in Bakur with Turks and Kurds in Rojhealt with the Persian. Also, I'm very much disappointed in the Jews and their damned state of Israel. Jews are a bunch of p*$$ie$. It is not a secret how much I do really hate Turks, but sometimes I think it's good what Barzani is doing and his befriendship with Turkye. Turks and Kurds together can be a very good competitors and opponents of Israel. Actually Turkye and Kurdistan together can defeat the state of Israel in everything. Israel sees Kurdish and Turkish rapprochement as a threat. That's why they try to destroy this deal. Jews waited for too long and lost Kurdistan! |

KRG: Kurdish oil has been sold 07.06.2014 Mewan Dolamari The Advisor to the Minister of Natural Resources has announced that Kurdish crude oil has been sold. The advisor and former head of Oil and Gas committee in the Iraqi Parliament, Ali Balo, was quoted on the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) official website as saying: “had the agreement not been signed beforehand, Kurdish oil wouldn’t have been exported.” “No one would have exported all of this oil unless an agreement had been signed first. Before exporting oil, agreements should be signed then it is exported and sold, Kurdistan’s oil goes through the same process,” said Balo. Member of the Oil and Gas committee in Kurdistan Parliament Dlshad Sha’ban said: “the tanker that transported Kurdish oil has not been lost but rather has arrived at the intended place. Rumors regarding a lost Kurdish oil tanker are false”. “On Sunday, we will be meeting with the ministry council to get a better understanding between the committee and the Ministry of Natural Resources. The Kurdistan Parliament should be aware of every single detail regarding the oil case,” said Sha’ban. The oil will be sold through Turkish company BOTAS to Europe following a signed agreement between BOTAS and the buyers. According to Balo a large number of European countries are willing to buy Kurdish crude as they are currently in need of oil. http://www.basnews.com/en/News/Details/KRG--Kurdish-oil-has-been-sold/22591 |

Good to know the deal is for 50 years and can be extended turks are making money too it's true they say "money talks" Yildiz: As long as KRG wants to sell oil, Turkey will export 07.06.2014 Mewan Dolamari Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz said that as long as the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) wants to sell oil, Turkey will continue exporting it. “Turkey will continue transporting Kurdish oil since they [KRG] want to sell it,” said Yildiz. Yildiz also addressed reports that an oil tanker transporting Kurdish oil had been lost: “Kurdish oil has not been loaded to the oil tankers for the second time and the lost oil tanker is neither Turkish nor Iraqi. Regarding selling Kurdish oil and finding customers to buy it, only KRG and Baghdad will decide on that.” “After exporting the first Kurdish oil, KRG exported 100,000 barrels per day and now there are 2.8 million barrels in the tanker. Since they [KRG] want to sell the oil, Turkey will continue transporting it. If oil is extracted and exported to Turkey, Turkey will sell it no matter which part of Iraq it comes from. This is a public law and Turkey’s positive stance in this case will continue,” said Yildiz. Yildiz explained that they have not received further requests from the KRG to increase the number of tankers and said that he does not think it necessary to increase the number. Regarding Iraq’s arbitration Yildiz said that Turkey has yet to choose a prosecutor for the case, but will do so in the near future. “We want good relations with Iraq and after tackling the complaint I do not think there will be any serious issues between Turkey and Iraq,” he said. http://www.basnews.com/en/News/Details/Yildiz--As-long-as-KRG-wants-to-sell-oil--Turkey-will-export-/22562 |

KRG: Baghdad wants to prevent Kurdish development The head of Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Department of Foreign Relations (DFR) Falah Mustafa said that the Kurdish government hoped to solve the oil conflict through dialogue, but that Baghdad chose instead to launch an economic war. Mustafa told Kurdish media that Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki’s goal has been to hinder Kurdistan’s development and stressed that Kurdistan would not give up its constitutional rights. “Baghdad might cause problems for Kurdistan, they might affect us in the short term, but in the end we will succeed,” said Mustafa. Kurdistan’s independent oil sale has been at the center of the conflict between Iraq’s federal government and Erbil. The altercation intensified in May when the KRG announced they would be selling crude to the international market via Turkey, prompting legal actions from Baghdad. Two tankers have been loaded with one million barrels of crude each and both are predicted to unload in Italy. Buyers are yet to be revealed but the KRG has announced that crude from the first tanker has been sold. On Friday Reuters reported that the Italian Industry Ministry had issued a letter warning traders and refineries they could face penalties from Iraq’s oil marketing arm SOMO if they buy the crude.
