Because Rouhani expressed his intention to 'undo' the damage in US-Iran relations that had been done under Ahmadinejad's term, which will not be possible without offering some concessions to the West. Of course the Mullahs will dispose of him if he goes too far. Edited by Azamat, Aug 6 13, 7:35.
